the homicide rate in oakland keeps rising and tonight the person who killed a 15 year old girl is still on the lose. that girl was killed as she walked with others in a group near the oakland coliseum sunday afternoon. kron 4's j.r. stone is following the story and joins us with new information. >> the 15 year-old has been identified. just hours after the teenager wrist shot. her name wa blasting -- was a jordan. after she was- shot. a 14 year-old boy was also shot. police chief howard jordan is saying that they are doing everything. the suspect is a male teenager between a 13 years

lookout point earlier this month pleaded not guilty today to vehicular manslaughter, d-u-i and hit-and-run charges. police say gina eunice fatally struck a 56-year-old woman on december 20th. prosecutors say eunice had arraignment had a blood alcohol content of point-2-3 at the time of the collision. eunice is being held on $1 million bail. the crime rate in oakland is rising. those in the city have now seen 131 homicides this year. a 15 year old girl is the latest to fall victim to gunfire. she was killed on sunday afternoon. kron 4's j.r. stone is following the story and joins us with new details in >> reporter: the teenager who died last night has been identified as 15 year old jubrille jordan of oakland. this is what the crime scene looked like last night hours after the shooting had happened. keep in mind these gun shots rang out at 3:30 in the afternoon. jordan was killed and a 14 year old boy was shot in the foot. the shooter is still on the lose. oakland police chief howard jordan addressed the rising crime situation in oakland. >> watching his young children get murdered is

very disheartening and embarrassing for this city as the police chief. we will have more police officers, and be more proactive. we have three academies and and one the year we should probably have nearly 700. that, to me is a luxury. right now, that is 20 and half that will be 25 years. the bottom line is that it have to stop. people have to do a better job of protecting our children. from a more community involvement is also key. the chief says that more community involvment is also key to fighting crime in 2013. he says that he wants community members to even be a part of the officer selection process in
